Horse Showing in Santa Barbara

It was another very successful show! This makes two shows in two weekends - I am so tired (no days off in between and of course sick the whole time)! All my clients and their horses were fantastic and thus earned 33 blue ribbons (first place awards) and 8 division Championships. All clients were very happy, including parents. With their blue ribbon they also earn a prize, including: polo shirts, wine, gift certificates, etc. Many of the girls are extremely generous and usually get some prizes for me. This time they gave me a blue emordiered polo shirt, Ashlin a super tiny embroidered polo shirt and a saddle pad- LOVE IT!!

Horse Showing in San Juan Capistrano

This past weekend I took 4 clients and their horses to show in San Juan Capistrano at The Oaks (a AA rated horse show). We left Friday morning and returned late Sunday night. It went great; there were first place ribbons and prizes as well as a Reserve Championship. The girls are really fun and silly (ages 14-17). We shop, eat out a lot and laugh and laugh - OH and of course they ride! I know these horse look a like but they are all different horses.

Fun Photos

Fun photos, right? Both kids went to the doctor this week to get shots. Ashlin weighs 29 lbs and Westin 19 lbs. Ashlin was amazing for getting her shot. I explained to her that the nurse was going to pinch her with liquid that will go into her body to keep her healthy, but it only hurt for the count of 1,2 then she will get a lollipop. She pulled down her pants and showed then nurse were to put it and cried slightly for about one second. I told her how proud of her I was and that she was very brave. The rest of the day she was telling everyone she got a shot and pointed to the spot - super funny! Westin is sleeping really well (both kids go to bed at 8pm, it is great to have then on the same nap & bedtime schedule). Westin is really close to crawling, right now he does the "worm" across the floor. But is able to get from one spot to another very quickly- it is entertaining to watch!

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day FUN. We had dinner at Hope House with all the family, animals and Gram Cracker (Ashlin & Westin's Great Grandmother).

Weekend at Nana Lou's & Papa Les's

It poured rain all weekend while we were in Los Osos BUT that didn't matter - we still had a fabulous time! Ashlin was very upset leaving The Goodwin Farm, she wanted to stay. Nana Lou cooked up a storm and we all enjoyed it! The kids all slept really well - until 8am and we had fun playing indoors. Westin is eating and eating lots of baby food. Any flavor (Blueberry/Apple, Pears, Bananas, Oranges, etc) - he loves them all!

Our Weekend...FUN and PRODUCTIVE!!

Our weekend was great fun and we accomplished a lot! Our project with the help of my Dad and Uncle Markie was to take out and install 150 ft of new fencing down the long side of my riding ring. Uncle Markie drove the tractor and moved around lots of dirt on Friday. On Saturday morning we had the help of Ashlin Rae. She was great with entertaining herself in the dirt, around the jumps and basically was my little shadow until about 2pm - then took a 3 hour nap. We dug holes and set posts. On Sunday we hung rails, gates and pipe for water. then Kevin and Ashlin even had enough energy to go for a hike. Westin and I went to the market. It was a great weekend, working together!

Lots of Eating...

Ashlin loves to help in the kitchen. Whether it is beating eggs, mixing cake or (like we did today) making home made pizza, Ashlin loves to be involved. She is an excellent eater. Breakfast (eggs, toast, sausage & banana) Lunch (turkey & cheese sandwich, strawberries) Dinner (chicken, mac'n'cheese & broccoli). Westin is excited to start food. He loves sweet potatoes, but has also enjoyed pears, apples and bananas. His hair looks orange for some reason int these photos, but have no worries it is blonde and getting blonder everyday!
