Mykons (Greece) and Capri (Greece)

The last two days of our trip we toured Mykcons (Greece) and Capri (Greece). We rented scooters again in Mykons and rode into town. The town was made up with tiny streets with many twists and turns only big enough to walk through with lots of shops, the idea was that if the town was invaded the streets would cause much confusion. We spend the day at the beach, it was beauitful and super relaxing. In Capri (Greece) we took a chair lift to the highest point to over look the city - it was fun. We walked around the town (think Rodeo Drive but smaller). They had it all: Valentino, Ferramgamo, Armani, Gucci...everything - and the store fronts will decorated to the extreme. It was great fun!! Overall it was a trip of a lifetime, great accomadation, great food and great company. THANK YOU TO NANA LOU AND PAPA LES for taking EXCELLENT care of my babies!

Rhodes (Greece) and Santorini (Greece)

The last 2 days were spent in Rhodes, Greece and Santorini, Greece. Rhodes has a little town inside a castle wall, tiny little streets with shops popping out of every corner. It was hot, but there was lots of cafes and shade. Kevin enjoyed resting on a bench taking in the view while I did some shopping. The beach was beautiful, there was even a stair case to climb and jump off in the ocean. Santorini was breath taking. The city is perched on top of a very high cliff, I rode a mule up the 600 steps to get to the top. Kevin ran the stairs (of course). The mules were amazing, so well tempered and just picked their side and walked slowly to the top. We rode a scooter around the city, taking in the beautiful views. The little white buildings and blue roofs were straight out of a picture – we really enjoyed the day!

Greece (Athens) and Turkey (Kusadasi)

Greece (Athens) and Turkey (Kusadasi)
We spent the last 2 days exploring Athens, Greece then Kusadasi, Turkey. We toured the Parthenon and all it's gloreous ruins, the original Olympic Stadium, and the Temple of Zeus. It was all so humbling - seeing this ruins that seem to be as old as man. In Kusadasi, Turkey is was quiet lovely. Still hot but very clean and beauitful. We toured the House of Virgin Mary and the anicent city of Ephesus. We marveled at Magnesia Gate, the Fountain of Trajan, Odeon and the temple of Hadrian. It was an anicent city build only of beauitful white marble (streets, toliets, buildings - everything). We really enjoyed ourselves with some really fun shops also.

The Start of our Greece Cruise - ITALY

The start of our Greece Cruise - ITALY
Our ship is amazingly huge and beautiful, our room is really nice (bathroom nice size, super comfortable bed and large ocean view balcony). We have been really enjoying our friends (John and Olecia, Ray and Erica) with late night fancy dinners and great wine. We boarded the ship in Rome and spent the next day in Sicily, Italy. We hired a private tour guide that showed us the highlights of the city, including the still active volcano of Mt. Etna, the beautiful beaches and cute little shops and streets. The day went by so fast, but we all felt like we made good use of the time and saw EVERYTHING. We are having a fantastic time on and off the ship, also getting some great quality time together! Of course we miss the kids like nothing else!

Birthdays, Fiesta and the Rodeo

WOW - what an amazing week. Ashlin turned 3 years old and Westin turned 1 year old. They woke up on their birthday mornings to cupcakes and presents. We were lucky enough to have Nana Lou, Papa Les, Corey, James and Catherine stay with us for a few nights to celebrate the birthdays and Fiesta. It was so much fun. We played in the pool, beat down a Pinata, had great food, cupcakes and enjoyed being together! The parade was great fun, both kids were fantastic with their waving and clapping. Gram Cracker (Great Grandma Vie) and Nana (my Mother) joined us in the carriage (4 generations). Then to end the weekend we went to the Rodeo, Ashlin loved every minute of it and asked to ride the cows. Maybe next year??
