Safety Town Camp

Ashlin attended Safety Town Camp this week. She loved it! She was in the same group of 2 of her really good friends (Claire and Avery). She learned about "water safety (never swim alone), stranger danger (if a stranger stays come with me you SCREAM NO), fire danger (stop, drop & roll), earthquakes (drop, cover & hold), address, phone number, good touch/bad touch (snuggles & high fives/ someone trying to touch your baby buns)" Ashlin is telling me exactly what to write. She also drove little cars around a little town with cross walks, stop signs and signal.  It was a great time.

Ashlin riding Tony Pony.  Westin is leading. We ride the horses at least twice a week, sometimes going for trail rides and sometimes working in the ring.

Ashlin's FIRST Swim Meet

First they warmed up in the pool, then waited for their heat to be called. She was in the 6 & Unders (she is only 4, so most kids were older than her).

Then she moved to her assigned chair in the lane which she would race.

Her swim coach, Preston, giving her some more advice.

The swim meet was held at La Cumbre Country Club.

On your marks, she is counting down.

The buzzer! And she is off.

And then she swam her little heart out.

Preston was there for every stroke encouraging her along.

She earned two 4th place ribbons in the back stroke and free style. She did GREAT!

Visiting GREAT Grandma Margie

We had a nice visit with Great Grandmother Margie OR Great Margie as Ashlin calls her.

Aquarium of the Pacific

July 7, 2013. We took at trip to the aquarium - "so much fish" as Westin would say. It was lots of fun. Nana Lou, Papa Les and Aunt Charlotte joined us.
