Soccer Champions!!!

Congratulations to Esportiko U-8 soccer team! Westin's soccer team went undefeated the whole season and pulled off the Championship win with a 1-0 score. Great job....add it to the trophy case.

Fiesta 2018

Another great year for Fiesta. Ashlin danced and danced and danced flamenco. Sometimes up to 5 shows per day for two weeks. Westin was a trooper and tagged along most of time. Cate joined Kevin and Westin in the carriage during the parade. Ashlin rode her favorite pony, Prince, and I walked (ran) with them.  The parade was on Ashlin's birthday, it was fun to hear every announcer on every block wish and sometimes sing her 'Happy Birthday". Ashlin's flamenco teacher was crowned the Spirit of Fiesta this year, that was fun.  Westin was able to squeeze a soccer game in as well.

Fun Times at Lake Nacimiento

Lake trip to Lake Nacimiento - it was a blast. Corey, James, Catherine and Porter all joined us for 4 days of fun water skiing, wake boarding (water boarding as Westin calls it) and tubing. Ashlin, Porter, James and Cate learned how to water ski this trip, it was amazing to watch. Once they learned there was no stopping them, they were begging to go again and again and again. The last day we water skiied from 9am-3pm...all day, then tubed until 6pm. Corey learned how to double ski - that is a priceless sight - SO many laughs. Westin tried skiing, but couldn't get up. Kevin and I wake boarded a lot.  It was really hot (106 degrees), but we stayed wet and covered up in sunscreen and had a great time together.

Jog - a - thon WINNERS!!!

Jog-a-thon update:

Both Westin and Ashlin ran to a 1st place first in their jog-a-thon competition. We are very proud of both of them! They trained consistently running at the SBCC track and worked really hard to meet their goal of running the entire 30 minutes without walking. Westin ran 43 laps, the only person to beat him was an 8th grade boy with 46 laps (Westin is in 1st grade).  Westin even took a running clinic to help improve his technique- he really enjoyed it.  More trophies to add to the case!!

Train Ride

Our trip included a train ride from Williams, Az to the Grand Canyon. It was a great way to see the countryside. Lots of forest and animals. On the way back it was held up by cowboys - all part of the entertainment.

Grand Canyon Road Trip

What an amazing trip to the Grand Canyon!! The view is just unbelievable, so beautiful. The weather was amazing at 75 degrees. We drove, the kids were so great for the long car ride (8 hours there, 10 hours back) - it went by very fast.  We took a helicopter tour, WOW - that is crazy fun and the best way to see it all.  As you are flying over the forest all of a sudden the floor drops out and you are looking 4,000 ft down - my stomach dropped and you just gasp. The helicopter has a glass bottom, so you are staring all the way down - it is a very unique experience.  It was a super adventure.

Taylor SWIFT - at the Rose Bowl

 
 
 

 Ashlin and I had a date with Taylor Swift at the Rose Bowl. Her concert was amazing...it helped that we had floor seats row A - 5 with special orange wrist bands to get into our area. There were 60,000 people behind us - a sold out concert. It was Ashlin's first concert - she sang every song. It was so much fun. Selena Gomez also sang a few songs.
