Horse Show Weekend...

 

It was a working weekend for me....at the horse show.  I thought it would be fun to show a few photos of the horses, kids and families.  I took 9 horses - it was a lot of work, but very gratifying because they all did so well (thanks to the amazing horses we have). I had some form of illness or exhaustion because I lost my voice all day on Saturday and Sunday which made it even more challenging. I am also President and horse show manager putting the show on, so even more work. It's a juggling act most of the day.

What a wonderful Easter! Mary Lou and Les joined us. We went to church then a huge brunch at the University Club where there was lots of friends with kids then a big egg hunt. The kids found so many eggs that their baskets were full. Ashlin found the golden egg and received a basket of toys. Then there was an "adults only" egg hunt with specialized treats, Papa Les found the golden egg and received a bottle of wine.  It was a really relaxing, yummy day!  John and Westin were wearing matching outfits.

Great Margie's 89th Birthday Party

Happy 89th Birthday to Great Margie! What a wonderful party - the  entire family came. Nana Lou even made the beautiful cake. All the kids had a great time playing together.

My son plays with dolls...

Well kind of.  He likes to load them on his tractor and drive around as fast as he can watching them fall off.  He gets a real kick out of running them over.  What can I say?  All boy this one.

The Great Gatsby Gala at the Bacara

Last night was St. Raphael's Annual School Auction at The Bacara Resort - themed The Great Gatsby. It was fun, lots of auction items, dinner and live music.

Horse Show with Ashlin Rae

Ashlin had her first judged horse show riding Jewel - she did great! So proud of her, her pony was a little wild the first day but she controlled her very well and did NOT run anyone over or jump anything. It did not scare her like most kids. The next day her pony behaved much better and she earned a 3rd and 5th place (her classes were big).  She stayed at the show with me ALL day (my days are long, I take lots of clients) both Saturday and Sunday and was a good helper.  Teaching her the ropes early on.

Beach Time

 

Pooh Bear took Ashlin, Westin and Elvis to the beach on Monday and the tide was really low and the weather was amazing. Westin has been wearing his cowboy boots everywhere (even the beach).

The kids traveled very well, they were responsible for pulling their own back packs. Besides snow skiing and snow boarding we also played at the indoor water park (some of us even got a nap in), they have water slides, tubes and lots of fun things - the kids really enjoyed it.
